For a bit more insight into the author, check out Reese's Commonplace Book. Commonplace Books, dating from the 16th century, are collections of memorabilia or, in this case, quotations, ranging from the familiar to the far-flung. In Reese's, there are lengthier sections from some of his favorite books, and his favorite authors appear time and again. There are snippets of Whitman. Thoreau. Colette. Cheever. Crichton. Clive Barker. .So, some food for thought, courtesy of the author. Bon appetit.
